What’s new for webmasters

This overview lists the features developed in the last two months. All these new features are available in the admin environment.

Content management

  • Layout builder for pages - create text content with flexible column layouts and embedded content using a visual builder.
    Now supports unlimited rows and columns and can be used in any folder or item.
  • Previous versions with one-click restore - browse the change history of every item and restore an earlier version.
    User filters provide quick access to changes made by a specific person or process.
  • Recently deleted items with restore - restore deleted items individually from the trash.
    Permanently emptying the trash and clearing the change history remain restricted to developers.
  • Flip URL names - swap the URL names of two pages from the page information screen or directly from the page overview.
  • Page URL name overview - optionally display the URL name of each page in a separate column in the page overview.
  • Drag-and-drop sorting - manually sort items using a drag-and-drop list instead of a selection box.
  • Drag-and-drop uploads - drop files onto the admin breadcrumb to attach them to the item currently being edited.
    Profile photos can also be uploaded by dragging and dropping them onto the form.
  • Filemanager improvements - move controls have been added to the toolbar, rows are more compact,
    and modal actions have been improved. A new filter box narrows the file list as you type,
    the toolbar remains visible while scrolling with quick top/bottom buttons,
    and newly uploaded files are automatically selected.
  • Import wizard improvements - return from the field-mapping step to the delimiter step without losing the uploaded file.
  • Consistent import and export pages - both overview pages now use the same list layout. Back buttons return to the relevant overview,
    and import and export options are always available from the More menu.
  • Admin search shortcuts - enter an item ID to open the corresponding item directly.

URL names and embeds

  • Choose a URL name with parameters — use the URL picker to configure display options, filters, sorting, and limits,
    with a live preview of the resulting page.
  • Create embed URLs with parameters - use the Choose URL button on the information page to build an embed containing the required parameters.

Support tickets

  • Conversation view - messages are displayed as collapsible entries with avatars and short previews.
  • Starred messages - Telartis users can star individual messages. Clients can view the stars but cannot change them.
    Projects containing starred messages are marked in the project overview.
  • Optional subject for each message - add a subject using an input field that appears when the Add subject option is selected.
  • Multiple attachments - drag and drop several attachments onto new tickets and replies.
    Files are stored with the project and included with the notification email.

Mail

  • Test sending and previewing - preview email templates and bulk mailings, and send a test message only to your own email address.

Account pages

  • Shared account menu - profile, email, password, mailing and finance pages now use a consistent layout with account navigation buttons.
  • Admin password reset - the admin password-reset process uses the redesigned login style.
    The selected language is retained throughout the complete email process, including when the reset link is opened on another device.
  • Password-reset styling - front-end password-reset pages follow the login design of each website.
    Their appearance is now controlled through templates rather than a database setting.

Look and feel

  • New admin themes - modern Bootstrap 4 and Bootstrap 5 admin themes with dashboard cards, consistent dropdown menus and tooltips.
  • Redesigned admin login page - a modern card layout with an option to show or hide the password.
  • Modernised information page - a clearer definition-list layout with copy-to-clipboard buttons for embed and location information.
  • Bootstrap 3 retired - all websites and the admin environment now use Bootstrap 4 or Bootstrap 5.
    Several customer websites have also received design updates.

Under the Tools & Settings menu, the button at the top right of the admin environment with the sliders icon, you will find the following options:

Account-menu

Under the Account-menu, the button at the top right of the admin environment with the user-icon, you will find the following options:

  • Your Name (links to your account)
  • Webmaster (remove permissions from session)
  • Sign out

Platform improvements

  • Security improvements - protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), password hashes throughout the platform, fixes for unsafe redirects and setup pages for time-based two-factor authentication.
  • Modern technology stack - updated versions of MySQL, PHP, Smarty, PHPMailer and jQuery, together with a session module that supports a configurable session lifetime.
